Just eight years after deciding to become a professional writer, Carman Marie Colwell has published numerous children's books, short stories for children and adults, and books encompassing a wide range of subjects. Ms. Colwell first began to explore her talents as a writer while recuperating from an illness. She began keeping journals and gained support and encouragement from her instructors. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Colwell took the plunge and wholly devoted herself to her passion. Her works include a short story, titled "Saving Rico," about a man who saves a German shepherd, and "Pete," a story about a parakeet.
